What's the difference between AL (american league) and NL (national league)?

I have searched for the differencies but have yet not found anything.

The National League dates back to 1876. The American League was formed in 1901 as a competitor to the National League.

The primary difference between the AL and NL lies in the fact that the American League allows a designated hitter while the NL does not.

Because of the rule there is a very large difference in the two leagues in terms of style of play.

Not only did the Rays blow a golden opportunity to wrap up the first trip to the World Series in franchise history, they gave the Red Sox renewed confidence that they can get themselves off the mat on the verge of a knockout..

We shall see

Limiting yourself to just picking winners is like only going to half of the buffet table. If you’re looking for the next step in the evolution of sports betting, it’s time to upgrade to Bodog Live MLB Betting. Basically, it gives you the power to bet on every play of the game as you watch it on TV.

Are you doing anything else while your bets are in play? Might as well sit on the couch with a cold one and track your wins and losses.

At least this way if your team is starting to get blown out, you are not out to lunch.

Enjoy Live MLB Betting in the Bodog Sportsbook!

Daisuke Matsuzaka made a comeback after three months of being in the disabled list. The so-called comeback can also serve as a preview of what he can do for the Boston Red Sox during the playoffs. .......

Curious what opinions you have in the upcoming series. My views are not objective (i bleed dodger blue). A fox commentator has the dodgers in 6, but I don't like the matchups (and the young dodgers may be over-rated).

I like the Phillies in 6. I think the having 3 solid lefthanders in the rotation is gonna hurt the Dodgers. Its gonna be tough for Ethier to get it going against Lee,Hamels, and Happ. That being said, if the games come down to the bullpen, the Dodgers will have the edge.

1-1 with the 3 and 4 starters set to pitch. Granted that means cliff lee, but the dodgers overall team batting and bullpen should prevail. Go yanks, go dodgers:thumbsup

I downloaded a software program to my computer that allows me to watch New York Yankees MLB baseball online via live streaming feed. I use it because I'm at work (aargh..) a lot of times when the games are played, and there's no TV at work.

It's easy to operate and downloads very quickly. I like it so much that I watched basically all of the playoffs online. The only pc requirements are DSL or cable Internet and a windows operating system (sorry mac users), and it apparently works in any country.

Anyway, the website below will give you instant access.

This is just spam, I have checked the website and nobody will get instant access without making a payment.

Once a year, all teams in the MLB gather and discuss deals under one roof. The recent trades were very limited due to the failing economy, restricting the general managers with their trades. There were clear winners and if there are winners, there are also losers in the trades that occurred. The Winter Meetings was full of activity and here are the top ten deals that occurred during the meeting:........................

First on top of the trades Ian Kennedy and Edwin Jackson going to Arizona New York receiving Curtis Granderson.

This look like a good trade to me, Ian Kennedy had some good games but in general i think Curtis is need it more in NY.

The 8th on the list is Carl Pavano accepting the arbitration with the Minnesota Twins – the American League Central champions.

I wonder if Pavano going to be the pitcher that just to be, i remember that with Yankees he spend most part of his contract in disable list, then return, pitch a game and again to disable list.

I learned today that baseball after the United States is second biggest in Japan. They will try and launch a global baseball league in the future. I also didnt know that U.S teams send scouts on a regular basis to Japan to fish for players.

Read more about it here and can be found at ixgames blog.

Yes, the Japanese pro leagues are almost sort of like an advanced AAA league that helps feed players into the Major Leagues. Every season seems like there's a bidding war over the "next big thing" coming out of the Japanese leagues. . .
