Just got my 4th one today, in a holdem game. been playing all forms of poker for almost 20 yrs, got my firsta yr ago in a live game and got paid off, later that month i had two online in the same day. from someone that has easily seen 5 million hands ive had 4 and seen 3 others.... pretty slim pickins... and the crappy thing is usually you never get paid off and you just have to show them to other people.... lol

If we're talking texas hold'em, although you make a 5 card hand, you have 7 cards available to you. So what's the odds of making it using 7 cards?

I saw one once, but nobody else saw it because they all folded to a minimum bet, most frustrating and not very exciting, i've had more thrilling and rewarding hands.

Using both hole cards: 1:64,973
Using at least one hole card: 1:32,486
Using 0-2 hole cards: 1:30,939

The real number of hands you would have to play however is much higher than e.g. 64,973, as this assumes that you would play ANY two suited cards of 10+ EVERY time - which is very unlikely.
Also many hands that are folded early don't count towards this number. These odds assume that every game plays to the river (or at least until the possibility of a royal flush is mathematically eliminated) - which is even more unlikely!

Nice statistics. I have been playing for 2 years now. I haven't seen a royal flush yet.
