personally i like to win a bigger prize. that is if i could win... lolWe would all like a bigger prize, but the thing is, fewer and fewer players are playing because the reward is 11.00 coupons. Rounders Radio does a freeroll tournament on sundays that give away 3x 11.00 coupons. There use to be 100+ players playing in those tournaments, now there is a average 40-50 players. With the double-up coupons it would give players more of a chance to start a bankroll.
With the current prizes, you would have to win a 11.00 coupon, then win the 50k satellite, then place in the money during the 50k in order to start a bankroll. Last week there was 17 players in the Ixgames tournament, of those 17 players half were not even playing, they were being blinded out.

Would you be more incline to 3x 10.80 double-up coupons?

I stand corrected, the Rounders Radio tournament is on Mondays not Sundays.

There may be more reasons at work for the low attendance than just the form of the prize pool. I can't and won't speak for othes but I've stopped taking part because I got tired of (1) the large %-age of no shows who signed up for the game -- turning full table MTTs into short handed or HU too many times and, (2) too many instances of what seemed to be obvious cheating or multiaccounting players. Given the size of the field is down again, I might have to reconsider joining the games again although it sounds like you still have to manage to outlast the no shows for a chance at the prizes. . .

As for the prize pool itself, I don't think I would mind if it were modified, but don't really like the options of substituting DoN coupons for Satellite coupons. If it is going to always be coupons, substitute some with more general usability. DoN coupons don't much good if you don't like DoN games any more than satellite coupons do if you're never going to use those for their single purpose. . .

Double up has my vote if it can help me to start a bankroll. Thank you, Freerollbird

DoN coupons would be way more worth it. Heck it might even get me back playing on Carbon.

5.4 SnG coupons are easier to win. Making money from a 11 satellite coupon is very difficult.

Well i guess the players who get to play this game regularly should have the say over me. Ive only registered once and then due to a storm lost power and was a sit out in the game.

However, is this even an option? the 6 tickets?

It just seems to me that if the difficulty level of cashing in the $11 ticket game that would be more ideal for the higher ups. Make it hard and keep them coming back for more.

Also, in the easier games your basically bidding time while the donks take each other out (and sometimes we get caught up in their tactics and lose)

I would much prefer the $11 coupons, hate the DONS. we used to have winner take all coupon in the carbon game, i liked the change to top 3 but really don't want to see another change. most players here are tourny players imo so i think majority would prefer the $11's.

But the problem is...our numbers in that tourny is slowly disappearing. We want to attract to new members and not run off the ones we have. We would also be the first on the Merge Gaming network to provide DON coupons as prizes in the private freeroll community. We are just trying to make it better for everyone around. Last week we had 17 players register, only 7-8 actually sitting there at the table playing. Yeah it makes it better for the 7-8 playing, but that does not give us a good field of players to work through. I have won a ticket the past 3 weeks. That has never happened to me before, and I can thank the low number of players for that. I don't lke that...that means we are doing something wrong and not attracting new players.

All opinions are welcomed here, that is why I put up a voting section so everyones voice can be heard. This topic has been posted for 6 days now and it has only recieved 9 votes. That my friend is very low traffic.

The first change was good from winner take all to 3 places paid, but now that Merge will only let you use the coupons on the 50k satellite instead of the 1000.00 guarenteed no one wants to play the freeroll as much anymore. They can go to Rounders Radio and play in their weekly freeroll tournament and get a 11.00 coupon without being a active member.

P.S. We are trying to work on 3x 10.80 DONs instead of 6x 5.40 DONs

I'll be keeping an eye on this to see how it develops, but I don't think the type of coupon is entirely to blame for the drop in attendance, not for me anyway. . .

(1) The large number of no shows. This is not particular to ixgames freeroll games, but still disappointing considering that activity is required to get in, so why then sit out once you can play? Some of the people doing this on a weekly basis, please explain yourselves. . .

(2) What I saw as a number of instances of cheating -- either multiaccounting or chip dumping -- I witnessed over a period of a few weeks. That was the straw that broke this camel's back, to be honest. This has nothing to do with ixgames, just pw sharers and their brethren with a lack of ethics or morals. . .

(3) The lack of flexibility for using the prize coupons. I am sorry that they can't be used for the $1K GTD anymore. I certainly would feel more comfortable in that tournament than the $50K -- assuming that you can make it through the second qualifying hoop to begin with. It's a big step up from micro levels -- which I guess most of us are -- to that kind of buy-in level, satted in ot not. . .

I really think a double up coupon would be awesome because there's the chance to grow a bankroll for those who needs.

So if one of those ticket lets you into a $10 double up SNG and then being in-the-money you have $20.

But everybody dont seem to be happy with tickets to SNG's ?

Regarding the PW sharing and other cheaters it really turn down the games and especially if you see a cheater get one of those tickets before you do.

We have tried to filter out people that obviously was part of the players club just to cheat and do other things against the rules.

I have learnt alot of being admin and working on things behind the scene. You start seeing patterns of none existing activity with members that cheats including many other things.

Either way changing from the current prizes to something else should be a win-win situation for everybody ? Atleast feels like that.

I certainly do -- and am confident most here do also -- appreciate anything that can be done -- changing the prize pool and/or the structure -- and has been done -- trying to oust the cheaters -- to improve the ixgames members' experience here. It's not easy trying to please everyone, but I'm sure a consensus can be reached by the staff, membership and the poker room and it's representatives. . .

Paying six places would allow more players and a better incentive for more players but either a 5.40 for 6 or 10.80 SnG DoN coupon for 3 is waaaaaay more valuable than any $11 coupon for 3 for only 1 type of game that the odds are 12 to 1 to even get anything out of it and then you still would have to play the 50k and place. Hope this does get changed for the next game.
