Manchester City are determined to round off a summer of heavy spending with the blockbuster signing of Alexis Sanchez or Kylian Mbappe, according to the Daily Mail .

Pep Guardiola has already brought in a host of new faces at the Etihad Stadium, with the focus thus far on strengthening an ageing defence.

But the manager wants a top name to bolster his strikeforce, too, and will not rest in his pursuit of either £50 million-rated Arsenal man Sanchez or Mbappe, whose fee could reach as much as £100m.



FUMING PEREZ WANTS OUT OF ARSENAL

Losing his shirt number to Alexandre Lacazette was the last straw for Lucas Perez as the incensed forward looks for the exit at the Emirates, La Voz de Galicia reports.

According to the Spanish newspaper, Perez was left fuming by the decision to hand his No.9 jersey to the ex-Lyon man.

That slight led to an apparent conversation with Arsenal director Dick Law, who was told in no uncertain terms that the Spaniard wants a transfer to Deportivo as soon as possible.



VAN DIJK ONE OF FOUR WANTED BY CHELSEA

Chelsea will not rest after the signing of Alvaro Morata and have Virgil van Dijk at the top of a list of four players they want at Stamford Bridge, report the Sun .

The Southampton man joins Alex Sandro, Antonio Candreva and Fernando Llorente as priorities for Antonio Conte ahead of the new season.

To land Van Dijk, however, Chelsea may have to battle Liverpool, who are long-term admirers of the defender's abilities.

But Arsene Wenger has baulked at the £50 million slapped on Mahrez's head, and Leicester's unwillingness to compromise has already scared away interest from Roma this summer.
