The min. or max you can bet will depend on what site you are using.

The Texas Longhorns’ two-week stay at No. 1 will likely end no matter what they do Saturday against UConn after losing early this week to Kansas State, but the Horns probably won’t drop farther than No. 4 if they can beat the Huskies on Saturday afternoon – make your college basketball bet at Bodog on this game.

How far has the Pac-10 – the conference that has had six NCAA Tournament bids each of the past three years – fallen in 2009-10? It’s very possible that the Atlantic 10 will have three times as many teams headed to the Big Dance as the Pac-10 and that the little West Coast Conference will have double the amount of teams in the NCAA Tournament.
That’s because the Pac-10 is looking like a one-bid league as its conference tournament begins Wednesday in Los Angeles – bet on the tournament all week with Bodog’s college basketball odds. No BCS conference (Big Ten, Big East, SEC, Big 12, ACC, Pac-10) has failed to send more than one team to the NCAA Tournament since it expanded to 64 teams in 1985. But the Pac-10 has no ranked teams heading into the conference tournament and hasn’t had a Top 25 team in weeks. Plus its members are a lousy 2-13 against Top 25 non-conference teams this season.

Bodog will have 2010-11 NCAA basketball futures odds soon.
Obviously this should mean that there will now be four play-in games instead of one, and it probably lessens the chance of a No. 16 ever upsetting a No. 1 seed because of the quick turnarounds those No. 16s would have to make after playing the Tuesday before the Big Dance starts two days later. I am guessing this also means that all four No. 1 seeds would thus play on the first Friday of the tournament to give the play-in winners an extra day to prepare.
This new deal, which is worth $10.8 billion over 14 years, will have to be approved by the Division I Board of Directors, which is considered a formality. It will also affect where you watch the games, because starting next season the first- and second-round NCAA Tournament games will be televised on CBS, TBS, TNT and truTV (what’s that?) – thus every game will be shown live on some network for the first time in the history of the tournament. CBS and the Turner networks will split coverage of the Sweet 16 games, and CBS will televise the region finals and Final Four. Beginning in 2016, coverage of the region finals will be split by CBS and Turner, with the Final Four and the national championship game alternating every year between CBS and TBS.
That’s quite a coup for cable station TBS in getting the national title game as part of the package. CBS Sports has broadcast the entire NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship since 1982. Twenty-three days from their first fall practice, another college football coach is leaving a Tennessee school.
This time its Vanderbilt Commodores football coach Bobby Johnson, who decided to retire Wednesday just two years after finally getting his Commodores a bowl victory.
"I've decided to retire, not resign," Johnson said. "It's a tough decision with which my wife, Catherine, and I struggled. This is a personal decision."
Johnson has been coaching Vanderbilt for eight years. As a program more focussed on academics than athletics, making the program somewhat respectable has not been easy. 2008 was the first time Vandy had a winning season (7-6 overall) since 1982, finishing with a win over Boston College in the Music City Bowl.
Unfortunately, his squad regressed last year, posting a 2-10 record. Johnson, who turned 60 this year, leaves just seven weeks before the Commodores' first game.
"This is quite a shock to us," said assistant coach Robbie Caldwell, who will be taking over as interim head coach.
This is a move that could affect the SEC schedule. Despite their overall struggles Johnson fielded a competitive football team last year, looking competitive versus No. 23 South Carolina, No. 11 Georgia Tech and Tennessee.

Just two years removed from the Big 12 championship, the Missouri Tigers will be hungry to earn their third consecutive NCAA Tournament berth with another season amongst the best in their division. According to the Associated Press, that shouldn't be too difficult a task. In the AP preseason polls, the Missouri Tigers are ranked 15th in the nation and third in the Big 12.

After falling in the first round of the Big 12 tournament in 2010, head coach Mike Anderson's will look to guide his team back to the top of the pile in his fifth year with the club.
The Tigers will be happy to return third-year swingman Kim English after he led the squad in scoring with 14.0 points per game as a sophomore. In addition to his increased role on offense, English will play a leadership role with incoming freshmen Phil Pressey, Ricky Kreklow and Kadeem Green.
One of the biggest areas coach Anderson will turn to for support is the small forward position where No. 1-ranked junior college transfer Ricardo Ratliffe joins the squad after two years at Central Florida Community College. The addition of Ratliffe and the three freshman will help ease the burden of the departures of J.T. Tiller and Zaire Taylor who each chipped in more than eight points per game for the team in 2009-10.
The Tigers might not be locks for the Big 12 tournament, but no matter which way you slice it they appear to at least be a Top 25 team in the nation. If the team can get some impressive results from transfer Ratliffe and see English put together an even better junior season, you never how far they could make it this spring.

Potentially crushing news for the top-ranked Duke Blue Devils as freshman point guard sensation Kyrie Irving could miss the rest of the season with a toe injury.
Thanks in large part to Irving running the show, Duke has mostly dominated opponents in starting 9-0 in defense of its national championship. Irving sat out Wednesday’s 83-48 win over Bradley with what at first was thought was a minor toe injury. But after the game, Coach Mike Krzyzewski called Irving's injury "a serious one" that is being evaluated by doctors both at Duke and nationally. He said the team hopes to learn more about his status in the next week to 10 days.
"It is serious and whatever final decision is made, it's going to be based on what's in his best interests in his career, not to save him for any period of time or whatever," Krzyzewski said. "But he could be out for a long time."
Asked if Irving will be out the rest of the year, Krzyzewski said: "He could be, he could be."
Irving, who is third nationally among freshmen in scoring, averaging 17.4 points, injured his right toe in a win over Butler last Saturday. He apparently didn't break a bone in his toe, but the injury involves ligaments. Irving has been named ACC rookie of the week three times. He is in the Top 10 in six ACC statistical categories (scoring, assists, field goal percentage, free throw percentage, steals and assist-to-turnover ratio). Andre Dawkins will start in his place and he was awesome against Bradley with 28 points and no turnovers but also no assists.
Duke has three relatively easy non-conference games remaining before its ACC opener with Miami (Fla.). The Blue Devils’ first true road game isn’t until Jan. 12 at Florida State. Even if Irving is done for the season, Duke is still a national title favorite. But the Devils now aren’t as invincible as they have appeared so far this season.

Duke always has somebody waiting in the wings to be the next best thing. They can rebound from one player's injury. As a fan of ACC basketball, I've seen it time and time again. Mike K. is a great coach anyway, his teams usually adjust to whatever is thrown at them, and succeed.

Currently, NCAAB uses what it calls the "pod system" to cut down the number of teams that are eligible to compete. Four regions make up the tournament with 16 teams each. A "pod system" is a crossover game plan, wherein number 1 gets to play number 16, and number 15 gets to play number 2, until each regional tournament brings out the best team from the bunch that can competently play against the best of other regions. The best of each regions will then have an automatic spot in the Final Four, the national semi-finals of the NCAAB Division I.
NCAAB Division I is held every spring, during the month of March, thus coining the term "March Madness." The phrase was said to be originally used as a conjunction by Brent Musburger, way back in 1982 at a CBS Sports NCAA coverage. It became an oft-used phrase for both the Illinois High School Association and NCAA, later on arousing a legal battle regarding who really owns it during the succeeding years. As a form of compromise, the court granted both organizations the right to use the phrase, which they refer to as the "dual-use trademark," for their own purposes.
Since the NCAAB’s foundation in year 1939, it has established its rock-solid name through its remarkable legacy in the collegiate basketball history. It has undergone a great deal of expansion, as manifested by a great boom in number of participants and the establishment of Divisions II and III. From previous eight-team competition in 1939, the number amazingly grew to 64 teams in the later years. Although the league is considered amateur, expert fanatics (especially those from professional basketball) happen to be fond of watching the games, be it live or on air.
The vitality of television in the success of NCAAB Division I is truly undeniable. Looking back, NCAAB’s first television broadcast was in 1952, though the first broadcast of the championship game was aired in 1954. Currently, three television stations broadcast NCAAB games, specifically: CBS, TNN, and ESPN. All three are entitled to broadcast all games, but the opening or the play-in game is exclusive for the last two stations.
As expansion leagues, the NCAAB Divisions II and III, on the other hand, aren’t that different from the first division. The only distinction Division II has with Division I is that instead of four teams competing in the semi-finals, it has eight teams. The teams that survived the regional play will then meet in what they call the "Elite Eight." Division III, for its part, is the same as the first albeit on a smaller scale. This tournament is hosted by Old Dominion Athletic conference and held at Civic Center in Salem, Virginia.
